We recommend starting with a needs assessment to determine what the site is supposed to accomplish. We find that it is much better to examine the desired goal at the beginning so that your expectations are fulfilled. A site to display baby pictures does not have the same requirements as a site designed to draw customers in and create sales or a business site that is private and accessible only by authentication.

After agreement is reached on the goal of a site and a development agreement is signed we begin the process of laying out the navigation and graphical elements based on your wishes and our experience. We prefer to have all content for the site in hand at this point so that we may plan accordingly. If the site is to be database driven, the structure of the database must be programmed to allow for the necessary fields to tie together and display as updated. Typically a mock-up of the graphical elements is done and posted on-line for you to view and approve. At this point, suggestions are welcome and the final look and feel should be agreed upon.

Finally the actual pages are fully laid out and any database links and audio-visual media files are optimized for the web and put in place. We then proof all elements and receive your final approval before taking the site live for the world to see.

Depending on the type of site and whether it is meant to be public or private, you may also wish for us to assist in search engine optimization (SEO) to gain maximum exposure to your target audience. If we are also retained to maintain the site we will perform periodic or on demand evaluations to insure the integrity of the links and the timeliness of the information presented.
